Dizzying Double Vision
When we think of mirror images, we think of things in perfect symmetry: lined up to the tee. Photographer Gustav Willeit had a different idea for his Perspe series. Taking its name from Perspektive, the German word for perspective, each image is an eerie balancing act that denies its own manipulation. The artist places an interruption in each composite—a group of people on a walk, or a single bird—that affects a sense of normality in Willeit’s otherwise-disorienting landscapes. Looking for more?
